About this Blog

I’ve heard it said that if you practice yoga every single day, it will change you. Your life will change, your viewpoint will change, your expression will change.  Truth is, though, anything you practice daily will change you.  Life is change, even when it stays the same.

———–

Those were the introductory words to this blog exactly one year ago today.  My intention then was to practice daily, and to record that practice in a daily blog post.  It didn’t happen. If you have been following this blog, you know a small bit of the story.  Suffice it to say that life has a way of serving up the dishes you most need to eat, and they might not necessarily be your favorite food.  In other words, s*** happens.

So where do I go from here, and what exactly is the nature of this blog?  Today, January 5, 2012, I am uncertain.  It will continue, this I know.  I have changed the name of the blog from ‘A Yoga Year’ to ‘Living Yoga’ to better reflect what I think yoga really is:  A way of life, and not just a series of asanas.

This is what I think at the moment:  I will continue to post about different styles of yoga, and how they play a role in my life.  I will continue the series of posts on the 8 limbs of Ashtanga yoga, and what they mean to me both on and off the mat.  Mostly, I think, I will simply let the journey unfold, and see where it leads.

Life.  It’s all yoga.

Yoga.  It’s all about Life.
